About Us

Forest and Agroforestry Promoters (FAP NGO) is a community-focused, non-governmental organization based in Cameroon that is dedicated to promoting sustainable environmental management and rural development. With a strong emphasis on ecological conservation, FAP works to enhance the livelihoods of rural populations through initiatives in sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, renewable energy, and natural resource governance. The organization empowers women, youth, and vulnerable groups while fostering dialogue and cooperation among natural resource users to ensure equitable access and long-term ecological balance.

Our Mission

FAP’s mission is to actively promote the sustainable and responsible management, conservation, and restoration of natural ecosystems and wetland resources in the Western Highlands of Cameroon, ensuring long-term environmental health, biodiversity preservation, and the well-being of local communities.

Our Vision

To be a leading force in Cameroon’s sustainable development by promoting inclusive natural resource management, empowering local communities—especially women, youth, and vulnerable groups—and fostering harmony between people and nature through sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and conflict-sensitive conservation practices.

Our History

Forest and Agroforestry Promoters (FAP NGO) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2001 with the mission to promote sustainable forest management, agroforestry, and environmental conservation. Guided by a commitment to community empowerment and ecological restoration, the organization was officially legalized by the Government of Cameroon on 9 March 2004, under reference number 137/E31/067/SCAB. Since its inception, FAP NGO has worked to foster sustainable livelihoods, combat environmental degradation, and contribute to the socio-economic development of local communities.

Our Impact

Since 2006, Forest and Agroforestry Promoters (FAP NGO) has successfully carried out over 60 projects across  over 25 locations in Cameroon, including key regions like the North West, West, and South West. Our work focuses on sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, environmental restoration, community empowerment, and conflict resolution. With support from international partners such as the Swiss Embassy, European Union, and UNDP, we continue to promote natural resource protection and improve livelihoods for vulnerable communities, demonstrating our strong commitment to sustainable development and lasting impact.
